- Develop and lead the strategic direction of the Data & Analytics Governance team, in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of Verizon's Solutions & Services division.
- Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that ensures the accuracy, reliability, and security of Verizon's data assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data policies, standards, and procedures that adhere to industry regulations and best practices.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of data assets, including data quality, data lineage, and data access and security controls.
- Monitor data governance processes and identify areas for improvement to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and identify opportunities for leveraging data and analytics to drive business growth and enhance customer experience.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization by educating and promoting data literacy among employees.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of data governance professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive individual and team success.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to communicate the strategic vision and progress of the Data & Analytics Governance team, and advocate for the importance of data governance throughout the organization.
Extensive Experience In Data Governance And Analytics: A Senior Director In This Role Should Have A Strong Background In Data Governance And Analytics, With At Least 10 Years Of Experience In The Field. They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Best Practices And Industry Standards In Data Governance, As Well As Experience Implementing And Managing Analytics Solutions.
Leadership And Management Skills: As A Senior-Level Position, The Candidate Should Have Proven Experience In Leading And Managing Teams. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, Delegate Tasks, And Provide Guidance And Mentorship To Team Members.
Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess Strong Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills. They Should Be Able To Identify And Anticipate Potential Issues Or Challenges Related To Data Governance And Analytics, And Develop Effective Solutions To Address Them.
Technical Expertise: A Senior Director In This Position Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Data And Analytics Technologies, Tools, And Platforms. This Includes Knowledge Of Data Management, Data Warehousing, Data Visualization, And Data Security. They Should Also Be Familiar With Emerging Trends And Advancements In The Data And Analytics Space.
