- Design and implement secure mainframe systems, following industry best practices and compliance with regulations.
- Lead the development and maintenance of mainframe security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address security vulnerabilities in mainframe systems.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends in the mainframe space and proactively implement necessary measures to safeguard systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on mainframe security principles and best practices.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their security needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners to ensure the effectiveness of mainframe security solutions.

- Provide regular updates and reports on mainframe security status to upper management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in disaster recovery and incident response planning and execution related to mainframe systems.
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of mainframe security controls and make recommendations for improvements.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mainframe security and provide recommendations for adapting and improving the current security infrastructure.
- Collaborate with mainframe engineers and other technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve security issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert on mainframe security matters and represent the company in industry events and conferences.
Extensive Experience In Mainframe Security And Governance: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Mainframe Security Principles, Technologies, And Best Practices. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Implementing And Maintaining Mainframe Security Solutions In A Large-Scale Enterprise Environment.
Strong Knowledge Of Mainframe Systems And Applications: The Principal Engineer Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Mainframe Systems And Applications, Including Z/Os, Db2, Cics, And Ims. They Should Be Able To Analyze Mainframe Security Vulnerabilities And Recommend Appropriate Remediation Measures.
In-Depth Understanding Of Security And Compliance Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Industry Regulations And Standards Related To Mainframe Security, Such As Sox, Hipaa, And Pci Dss. They Should Also Be Familiar With Security Frameworks, Such As Cobit And Iso 27001.
Leadership And Project Management Skills: As A Principal Engineer, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading And Managing Complex Mainframe Security Projects. They Should Possess Excellent Leadership, Communication, And Project Management Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Deliver Projects On Time And Within Budget.
