  1. Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on Verizon's outside plant network infrastructure.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network equipment and connections.
  3. Perform cable installation, splicing, and testing to ensure optimal network performance.
  4. Monitor network performance and identify potential issues before they impact customers.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement solutions for network improvements.
  6. Keep accurate records of all work completed and report any issues or concerns to management.
  7. Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in telecommunications technology.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on network equipment.
  9. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  10. Respond to emergency repair calls and work efficiently to restore service.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all equipment is properly stored.
  12. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures for network maintenance and repairs.
  13. Update and maintain technical documentation and diagrams for network infrastructure.
  14. Work in varying weather conditions and at various heights to complete necessary tasks.
  15. Uphold Verizon's values and represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Telecommunications Infrastructure: A Strong Understanding Of Telecommunications Infrastructure, Including Fiber Optic Cabling, Copper Cabling, And Other Related Equipment Is Essential For An Outside Plant Technician At Verizon.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency In Using Various Tools And Equipment Used In Outside Plant Work, Such As Cable Testers, Splice Machines, And Power Tools, Is Necessary For This Role. Additionally, Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations Is Important.

  • Physical Ability: The Job Of An Outside Plant Technician Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Work In Various Outdoor Conditions, Including Harsh Weather And Elevated Platforms. Candidates Must Be Able To Lift And Carry Heavy Equipment And Climb Ladders And Poles.

  • Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: Outside Plant Technicians Must Be Able To Identify And Troubleshoot Issues In The Field Efficiently. This Requires Strong Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Think Critically Under Pressure.

  • Communication And Teamwork: As An Outside Plant Technician, You Will Be Working With A Team Of Professionals, Including Engineers, Project Managers, And Other Technicians. Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment Are Essential For Success In This Role.
