  1. Install and maintain fiber optic and copper cable network infrastructure.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair network issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Perform regular maintenance and testing on network equipment.
  4. Follow safety protocols and procedures while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  5. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure network efficiency and reliability.
  6. Use specialized tools and equipment to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  7. Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns.
  8. Keep accurate records of work completed and submit necessary reports.
  9. Stay up-to-date with the latest telecommunications technology and industry trends.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude while interacting with customers.
  11. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  12. Be available for on-call and emergency situations as needed.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and suggest ways to increase network performance.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Telecommunications Infrastructure: The Outside Plant Technician Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Telecommunications Infrastructure, Including Fiber Optic Cables, Copper Cables, Distribution Frames, And Other Related Equipment.

  • Experience In Installation And Maintenance: Candidates Should Possess Experience In The Installation And Maintenance Of Outside Plant Equipment And Facilities, Including Splicing, Testing, And Troubleshooting.

  • Physical Fitness: This Job Requires Physical Fitness And The Ability To Work In Various Weather Conditions, Climb Utility Poles, And Lift Heavy Objects.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: Outside Plant Technicians Must Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment.

  • Technical Certifications: Candidates With Technical Certifications In Telecommunications, Such As Certified Fiber Optic Technician (Cfot) Or Certified Outside Plant Technician (Copt), Are Preferred By Verizon. These Certifications Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Outside Plant Equipment And Procedures.
