- Install and maintain outside plant facilities, including cables, poles, and other network equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of outside plant facilities to ensure they meet company standards for reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues with outside plant facilities, including identifying and resolving network outages.
- Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure timely completion of network projects and maintenance tasks.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including documentation of installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to implement network upgrades and improvements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on outside plant facilities.
- Maintain a high level of customer service when interacting with customers and resolving issues.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in outside plant technology to make recommendations for network improvements.
Knowledge Of Telecommunications Infrastructure: An Outside Plant Technician At Verizon Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Telecommunications Infrastructure, Including Fiber Optic Cables, Copper Cables, And Other Relevant Equipment.
Experience With Installation And Maintenance: Candidates For This Role Must Have Experience With Installing And Maintaining Telecommunications Infrastructure, Including Troubleshooting And Repairing Any Issues That May Arise.
Familiarity With Industry Standards And Regulations: A Successful Outside Plant Technician At Verizon Must Be Well-Versed In Industry Standards And Regulations, Such As Those Set By The Telecommunications Industry Association (Tia) And The Federal Communications Commission (Fcc).
Physical Fitness And Ability To Work Outdoors: This Job Requires Working Outdoors In Various Weather Conditions And May Involve Climbing Poles, Ladders, And Other Structures. Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks Safely And Efficiently.
Communication And Collaboration Skills: As Part Of A Team, An Outside Plant Technician Must Have Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills To Effectively Work With Other Technicians, Engineers, And Contractors To Complete Projects And Resolve Issues.
