As an Outside Plant Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of our fiber optic and copper network infrastructure.   1. Install and maintain fiber optic and copper network infrastructure in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair network outages and service disruptions in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of network equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  5. Collaborate with team members to identify and address network issues and provide solutions.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and customers to provide updates on network status and resolve any concerns.
  7. Utilize technical skills and knowledge to identify and resolve complex network problems.
  8. Keep accurate records of work performed, including equipment used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  10. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times when interacting with customers and colleagues.
  11. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and information security.
  12. Attend training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to job responsibilities.
  13. Participate in projects and initiatives to improve network infrastructure and processes.
  14. Follow all ethical and legal guidelines in the performance of job duties.
  15. Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Telecommunications Infrastructure: An Outside Plant Technician At Verizon Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Telecommunications Infrastructure, Including Fiber Optic Cables, Buried And Aerial Lines, And Network Equipment.

  • Technical Skills: This Role Requires A Strong Technical Aptitude, Including The Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals And Schematics, Use Hand And Power Tools, And Perform Basic Troubleshooting Of Equipment.

  • Physical Fitness: Outside Plant Technicians Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Work In All Weather Conditions, Climb Poles And Ladders, And Lift Heavy Equipment. This Job Also Involves Digging Trenches And Working In Confined Spaces.

  • Communication Skills: As A Representative Of Verizon, An Outside Plant Technician Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Customers, Coworkers, And Other Departments Within The Company. This Includes Clear And Professional Verbal And Written Communication.

  • Time Management And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Ability To Manage Time Effectively And Prioritize Tasks Is Crucial In This Role. Outside Plant Technicians Must Also Have Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Troubleshoot Issues And Resolve Them In A Timely Manner. This May Involve Working Long Hours And Responding To Emergency Situations.
