Job Description

Verizon is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Counsel, SEC and ESG Reporting to join the Legal team. This individual will report directly to the General Counsel and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all SEC and ESG regulatory filings. The ideal candidate for this role will be an organized and detail-oriented individual who has a passion for corporate governance and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of disclosure.The successful candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate and have at least 5 years of experience in corporate governance and regulatory compliance, preferably with a focus on SEC and ESG reporting. This person must be a self-starter who can work independently and handle multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills are essential. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent research and writing capabilities and be comfortable working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze current SEC and ESG regulatory filings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  2. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for SEC and ESG reporting.
  3. Monitor changes to SEC and ESG regulations and adjust policies and procedures accordingly.
  4. Research legal issues pertaining to SEC and ESG reporting and provide guidance to the General Counsel.
  5. Prepare and file SEC and ESG reports as required by applicable regulations.
  6. Provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders on SEC and ESG reporting.
  7. Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for mitigating them.
  8. Remain current on SEC and ESG regulations and best practices.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including counsel, auditors, and investors.
  10. Monitor and respond to inquiries from external stakeholders regarding SEC and ESG reporting.
