Associate General Counsel - Privacy

Verizon is searching for an experienced Associate General Counsel - Privacy to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and counsel to the company on privacy, data security and related matters. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced attorney who is passionate about data privacy and security and who loves to work in a fast-paced environment.To be successful in this role, you must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of a state bar. In addition, you must have at least 5 years of experience in privacy and data security law, preferably in a corporate setting. You must have a deep understanding of the current privacy and data security laws and regulations, as well as the ability to advise the company on privacy and data security initiatives. Finally, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal advice and counsel to the company on privacy, data security and related matters.
2. Remain current on current privacy and data security laws and regulations.
3. Advise the company on privacy and data security initiatives.
4. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
5. Draft, review and negotiate privacy and data security agreements.
6. Manage data privacy projects and initiatives.
7. Monitor legal developments related to privacy and data security.
8. Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding privacy and data security issues.
9. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with privacy and data security issues.
10. Develop policies and procedures related to privacy and data security.
