Job Description

Varian Medical Systems is seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate Sr Medical Physicist to join our team of talented professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical physics and radiation oncology, and a commitment to advancing patient care in the field of radiation therapy. We are looking for a professional who has a Doctoral degree in medical physics, or equivalent, from an accredited institution. This individual should have at least 5 years of experience in a clinical or research setting, with a focus on radiation therapy. They must have a strong knowledge of both clinical and research physics, as well as an understanding of the physics of imaging modalities. Additionally, they must have a strong understanding of radiation oncology treatment planning systems and radiation therapy delivery systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. The Sr Medical Physicist will be charged with providing technical and professional support for the Medical Physics department, as well as providing guidance and expertise to clinical and research staff. This individual will also be responsible for the development of new technology and techniques to improve the quality and effectiveness of radiation therapy treatments. Responsibilities: • Provide technical and professional support for the Medical Physics department • Lead the development of new technology and techniques to improve the quality and effectiveness of radiation therapy treatments • Develop and implement radiation oncology treatment planning systems and radiation therapy delivery systems • Provide guidance and expertise to clinical and research staff • Review and evaluate clinical and research data related to radiation therapy treatments • Maintain current knowledge of medical physics and radiation oncology • Communicate effectively with other members of the medical physics team • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes • Participate in clinical and research activities related to radiation therapy
