Job Description

At Varian Medical Systems, we are always looking for talented and passionate individuals to join our team. We are currently looking for an experienced and organized Buyer/Planner to join our Purchasing department. The successful candidate should possess a combination of strong technical and analytical skills, be detail-oriented and have the ability to develop and maintain supplier relationships. The ideal candidate should be able to effectively manage inventory levels and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery of materials.The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field• Five or more years of experience in a related Purchasing/Planning role• Proven track record of negotiating cost savings and supply chain optimization• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office• Ability to analyze data and identify trendsIf you are an organized and talented individual looking to join a fast-paced and challenging environment, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze data and identify trends in order to develop and implement cost savings and supply chain optimization strategies.
  2. Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  3. Manage inventory levels and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  4. Negotiate cost savings and supply chain optimization.
  5. Prepare and submit purchase orders and related documents.
  6. Prepare and maintain accurate purchasing records.
  7. Monitor supplier performance and adjust purchasing strategies as needed.
  8. Conduct market research to identify new materials and suppliers.
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as government regulations.
  10. Provide administrative support for the Purchasing department as needed.
