1. Manage and maintain accurate financial records for the company, including but not limited to general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards.
3. Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts, and provide ongoing variance analysis to budget holders.
5. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all month-end and year-end closing activities.
6. Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
7. Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during annual audits.
8. Research and stay updated on accounting regulations and standards, implementing any necessary changes to ensure compliance.
9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing financial insights and guidance to support decision making.
10. Lead the preparation and filing of various tax returns, including income, sales, and property taxes.
11. Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
12. Drive process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function.
13. Support special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed to support the company's strategic initiatives.
