Job Description

Valero Energy is seeking a highly motivated Process Control Systems Specialist to join our team and help ensure the reliable operation of our facilities. We are looking for someone with a passion for process control and automation technology and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues alike. As a Process Control Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and resolving complex process control issues, developing improvements to our control systems, and helping to ensure that our facilities are operated safely and efficiently.The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and have 3+ years of experience in process control and automation. An understanding of PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems is also required. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are a must. Responsibilities:

Analyze and resolve complex process control issues
Develop improvements to control systems
Ensure safe and efficient facility operation
Create and maintain PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems
Monitor process control systems for malfunctions or errors
Assist with debugging process control systems
Troubleshoot and repair process control system components
Maintain and update process control systems documentation
Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues
Train staff members on process control systems
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Monitor and analyze process control system performance
Identify potential areas for improvement and develop solutions
