  1. Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive excellence in patient care, research, and education within the Department of Surgery at UVM Medical Center.
  2. Provide visionary leadership, direction, and support to the surgical team to ensure the highest quality of patient care and outcomes.
  3. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
  4. Oversee and manage the department's budget, resources, and operations to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and medical staff to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of patient care.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and community partners, to advance the department's goals and objectives.
  7. Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse team of surgeons, residents, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a high level of expertise and professionalism within the department.
  8. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in surgical practice, technology, and education to drive innovation and excellence within the department.
  9. Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to surgical practice and education.
  10. Represent the Department of Surgery at UVM Medical Center in professional conferences, meetings, and other events to promote the department's achievements and enhance its reputation.

Job Qualifications

  • Medical Degree: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Will Ensure A Strong Understanding Of Medical Practices And Procedures Within The Uvmmc Department Of Surgery.

  • Leadership Experience: As The Medical Group Director, The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role, Preferably Within A Healthcare Setting. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Manage And Lead A Team Effectively.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance Requirements, As Well As Experience Implementing And Enforcing These Regulations.

  • Strategic Planning Skills: The Medical Group Director Will Be Responsible For Developing And Implementing Strategic Plans For The Uvmmc Department Of Surgery. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Strategic Planning, As Well As The Ability To Identify And Address Potential Challenges And Opportunities.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For The Medical Group Director Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders, Including Physicians, Staff, And Patients, And Foster Positive Working Relationships.
