- Provide expert nursing care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Monitor and assess the health status of newborns, including vital signs, respiratory status, and developmental milestones.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Educate and support parents and families on newborn care, feeding techniques, and other post-natal concerns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and address any changes in patient condition.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain competency in all NICU procedures and protocols.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that the best interests and needs of the newborns are met.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on best practices and advancements in neonatal care.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to families during difficult and stressful times.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the quality of care provided and make recommendations for improvements.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.
Active And Unrestricted Registered Nurse License In The State Of Vermont.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu).
Current Certification In Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) And Basic Life Support (Bls).
Strong Critical Thinking And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure In A Fast-Paced Environment.
