Welcome to the McClure Miller Respite House at UVM Medical Center, where compassionate care is at the heart of everything we do. We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse with a passion for hospice care to join our team. As a member of our dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families during their end-of-life journey.   1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients and their families during end-of-life journey.
  2. Administer medications, monitor patient's vital signs, and provide wound care as needed.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure proper understanding of care plans and patient needs.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  6. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and protocols of the hospice facility.
  7. Demonstrate empathy and emotional support to patients and families during difficult times.
  8. Continuously assess patient's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and provide appropriate care and support.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  10. Promote a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and respect patient's privacy.
  12. Advocate for patients' needs and rights.
  13. Collaborate with community resources and services to ensure continuity of care.
  14. Provide guidance and support to nursing assistants and other team members.
  15. Participate in performance improvement initiatives to ensure quality patient care.
  16. Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols.
  17. Serve as a resource for patients and families, answering questions and providing information about hospice care.
  18. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care.
  19. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and team members.
  20. Participate in on-call duties as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Vermont.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Nursing Experience, Preferably In Hospice Or Palliative Care.

  • Bls (Basic Life Support) Certification.
