- Assess the nutritional needs of patients and develop individualized care plans based on their medical conditions, dietary restrictions, and personal preferences.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated nutrition care to patients.
- Conduct nutrition assessments, including collecting and analyzing patient data, and monitoring progress to evaluate the effectiveness of dietary interventions.
- Educate patients on proper nutrition and healthy eating habits, including meal planning and portion control, to promote overall wellness and disease prevention.
- Monitor and document patient progress and make necessary adjustments to dietary plans as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in the field of dietetics to provide evidence-based care to patients.
- Provide guidance and support to patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity, to help them manage their conditions through nutrition.
- Collaborate with food service staff to ensure patients receive appropriate meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain professional licensure and certifications, and adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice.
- Act as a resource and provide guidance to other healthcare professionals on nutrition-related matters.
- Participate in community outreach programs and educational events to promote healthy eating and nutrition in the community.
- Continuously evaluate and improve nutrition care processes to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Certification As A Registered Dietitian (Rd) Or Registered Diet Technician (Dtr) By The Commission On Dietetic Registration.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting, Preferably In A Teaching Hospital.
Strong Knowledge Of Medical Nutrition Therapy And The Ability To Develop And Implement Personalized Nutrition Plans For Patients With A Variety Of Medical Conditions.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team And Effectively Educate Patients And Their Families On Proper Nutrition And Dietary Management.
