Job Description

At the University of Vermont Medical Center, we are looking for an exceptional Radiology Medical Assistant to join our team. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adhere to our high standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a commitment to working as part of our cohesive team.The Radiology Medical Assistant will be responsible for helping to provide compassionate and quality care to our patients in a Radiology department setting. This position requires a professional and courteous demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Required Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Valid certification as a Radiology Medical Assistant• At least one year of experience in a Radiology Medical Assistant role or similar position• Basic knowledge of medical terminology• Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of healthcare professionals• Proficiency in computer systems and software• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills• Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities of the Radiology Medical Assistant:

  1. Provide exceptional patient care in accordance with the University of Vermont Medical Center’s standards.
  2. Demonstrate a professional and courteous demeanor to patients and visitors.
  3. Assist the Radiology department team with medical procedures, patient preparation, and patient management.
  4. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all medical paperwork is up to date.
  5. Administer patient medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  6. Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
  7. Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  9. Ensure that all safety and quality guidelines are followed.
  10. Remain current with developments in radiology and medical technology.
