
Patient Service Specialist
The University of Vermont Medical Center is looking for an enthusiastic and organized Patient Service Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members as the first point of contact. You will be responsible for ensuring that the patient experience is positive and that all patient interactions are handled in a timely and professional manner.The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and a commitment to providing the best possible patient experience. We are looking for an individual who is able to multi-task, prioritize, and handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to deal with difficult customers in a professional and compassionate manner.Required Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• Previous customer service experience• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to multi-task and prioritize• Working knowledge of computers and office equipment• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Responsibilities: • Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner. • Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members. • Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries in a timely manner. • Provide information about the medical center, its services, and other relevant information. • Assist patients with scheduling appointments and making payments. • Handle difficult customer interactions in a professional and compassionate manner. • Process paperwork and data entry. • Keep records of patient interactions. • Monitor patient waiting times and respond to any complaints. • Follow up with patients to ensure their satisfaction with the services provided. • Assist with other related duties as assigned.
