- Manage patient accounts: Responsible for accurately and efficiently managing patient accounts, including insurance information, payment processing, and resolving billing inquiries.
- Provide exceptional customer service: Serve as the main point of contact for patients and their families regarding billing and financial inquiries. Ensure a positive and professional experience for all patients.
- Ensure accuracy of billing information: Review and verify patient insurance information, update patient records, and ensure accurate billing and coding to avoid discrepancies and errors.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff: Work closely with healthcare providers, medical coders, and other staff to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.
- Resolve billing inquiries: Investigate and resolve any billing inquiries or discrepancies, including denied claims, rejected payments, and outstanding balances.
- Maintain confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines when handling patient information and financial data.
- Keep up-to-date with industry changes: Stay informed of any changes in medical billing laws and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy in billing processes.
- Maintain records: Keep detailed and organized records of all patient accounts, payments, and billing information for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with insurance companies: Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage, submit claims, and resolve any issues that arise.
- Identify areas for improvement: Continuously review and assess billing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The Candidate Must Possess A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, Such As A Ged, To Be Considered For The Position.
Previous Experience In Healthcare Or Customer Service: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting Or Customer Service Role Is Preferred, As It Demonstrates The Ability To Handle Sensitive Information And Provide Excellent Customer Service.
Knowledge Of Medical Billing And Insurance: The Candidate Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Medical Billing Processes And Insurance Procedures To Effectively Handle Patient Accounts.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Patient Account Representative, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Insurance Companies, And Healthcare Providers On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role.
