
Mental Health Technician - Inpatient Psychiatry

- Provide compassionate care and support to patients with mental health disorders.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, and mobility.
- Monitor and document patient behaviors and progress in treatment.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients.
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients in acute distress.
- Assist with group therapy sessions and other therapeutic activities.
- Continuously educate oneself on new developments and best practices in the field of mental health.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and actively contribute to the treatment planning process.
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional boundaries in all interactions with patients.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for patients with mental health disorders.
- Provide support and guidance to patients' families, as needed.
- Collaborate with community resources to ensure continuity of care for patients upon discharge.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Psychology, Social Work, Or A Related Field.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment.
Certification As A Mental Health Technician Or Equivalent Training And Experience.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Psychiatric Inpatient Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Mental Health Disorders And Treatment Methods.
