- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment to conduct tests and interpret results.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing.
- Record and maintain accurate and detailed laboratory data and results.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper and timely diagnosis and treatment plans for patients.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the accuracy and validity of laboratory tests and make adjustments as needed.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in laboratory science to ensure best practices are followed.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with training and mentoring of new laboratory staff.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards set by the medical center and relevant governing bodies.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations and patient care.
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the UVM Medical Center.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Or Related Field.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) By A Recognized Accrediting Agency Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Instrumentation, Including Automated And Manual Testing Methods.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Accurately Interpret And Analyze Complex Laboratory Data.
