
Medical Dosimetrist
At UVM Medical Center, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Medical Dosimetrist to join our team. In this role, you will play an integral part in providing patient care by ensuring that radiation treatments are planned and delivered with precision.The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Dosimetry or a related field, as well as at least one year of experience in a radiation oncology setting. You must also be certified by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB).You should be a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong communication and problem solving skills. You should also demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and a passion for providing quality care. Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver radiation treatment plans according to patient and physician instructions.
- Maintain and update patient records in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor and adjust radiation doses as necessary during treatment.
- Ensure accurate setup of treatment equipment, including beam modifiers and couch positions.
- Monitor radiation safety parameters and ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding radiation treatments.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure radiation therapy treatments are delivered safely and accurately.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Perform QA/QC checks to ensure accuracy in radiation dosimetry.
