  1. Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner, creating a positive first impression of the medical center.
  2. Assist physicians and nurses in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring that all patients receive proper and timely treatment.
  3. Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
  4. Take and record patients' vitals, medical history, and reason for visit accurately and efficiently.
  5. Administer medications and treatments under the direction of a physician or nurse.
  6. Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  7. Assist with patient education and counseling, providing necessary information and resources to promote health and wellness.
  8. Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  9. Schedule patient appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits, coordinating with other departments as needed.
  10. Facilitate communication and coordination between patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  11. Ensure proper inventory and stocking of medical supplies and equipment, notifying appropriate personnel when supplies are low.
  12. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve processes and enhance patient care delivery.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, promoting a culture of compassion and excellence within the medical center.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: This Qualification Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Education In Medical Assisting, Including Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Clinical Procedures, And Patient Care.

  • Certification As A Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma): This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Passed A National Exam And Met The Standards Set By The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or American Medical Technologists (Amt).

  • Experience With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Systems: Uvm Medical Center Utilizes Ehr Systems For Patient Records, So Proficiency In Navigating These Systems Is Essential For A Medical Assistant Clinical Role.

  • Strong Clinical Skills: A Medical Assistant Clinical Must Possess A Wide Range Of Clinical Skills, Including Taking Vital Signs, Administering Injections, Performing Phlebotomy, And Assisting With Minor Surgical Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Medical Assistant Clinical, The Candidate Will Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For Providing Quality Patient Care And Building Positive Relationships With Colleagues.
