
LPN/OR-OB Technician - Labor & Delivery

- Provide direct patient care to expectant mothers and their newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit.
- Monitor and assess the health status of patients, including vital signs, fetal heart rate, and postpartum recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including setting up and cleaning delivery rooms and preparing equipment.
- Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Attend trainings and stay up-to-date with best practices and advancements in OB nursing.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Float to other units within the hospital as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and uphold the hospital's mission and values.
- Address patient and family concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing manager or supervisor.
Licensed Practical Nurse (Lpn) Certification: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Hold A Valid Lpn License, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Practical Nursing.
Experience In Labor And Delivery: Previous Experience Working In A Labor And Delivery Department Or As A Obstetrical Technician Is Highly Desired For This Role. This Will Ensure That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Specific Procedures And Protocols Of This Specialized Area.
Knowledge Of Obstetric And Neonatal Care: As An Lpn/Or-Ob Technician In Labor And Delivery, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Obstetric And Neonatal Care. This Includes Knowledge Of Fetal Monitoring, Newborn Assessments, And Maternal Postpartum Care.
Attention To Detail And Ability To Multi-Task: The Role Of An Lpn/Or-Ob Technician In Labor And Delivery Requires The Candidate To Be Able To Manage Multiple Tasks At Once While Maintaining A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail. This Includes Monitoring Patients, Assisting With Procedures, And Documenting Patient Information.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Like Labor And Delivery, Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential. The Candidate Should Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Efficiently With Patients, Their Families, And The Healthcare Team.
