Job Description

The University of Vermont Medical Center is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Food Service Worker. Our hospital is a unique and exciting place to work, and we are looking for an individual with the right combination of qualifications and personal qualities. You must be passionate about providing excellent patient care, have a positive attitude, and strive to exceed our customers' expectations.The ideal candidate for this role must have a high school diploma or GED, experience in a healthcare setting, and a willingness to learn more about the food service industry. Additionally, we are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and serve meals and snacks to patients, staff and visitors in a timely and professional manner.
  2. Ensure all food items are prepared and served according to health and safety guidelines.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and food-related areas.
  4. Stock and replenish food items as needed.
  5. Assist with food inventory and ordering when necessary.
  6. Follow all department policies and procedures related to food service.
  7. Monitor temperatures of food items, and ensure they meet safety standards.
  8. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
  9. Assist with cleaning duties as necessary.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
