Job Qualifications
  • Current License And Certification: The First Qualification For An Emergency Medicine Np Or Pa At Uvm Medical Center Would Be A Current And Active License As A Nurse Practitioner (Np) Or Physician Assistant (Pa) In The State Of Vermont. Additionally, The Candidate Should Hold Current Certification In Emergency Medicine From A Recognized National Organization Such As The American Academy Of Nurse Practitioners (Aanp) Or National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Previous Experience In Emergency Medicine: Uvm Medical Center Is Seeking Candidates With Prior Experience In Emergency Medicine. This May Include Experience Working As An Np Or Pa In An Emergency Department, Urgent Care Center, Or Other Acute Care Setting. Experience In Critical Care, Trauma, Or Pediatrics May Also Be Beneficial.

  • Strong Clinical Skills: As A Per Diem Position, The Emergency Medicine Np Or Pa At Uvm Medical Center Will Be Required To Provide High-Quality And Efficient Care To Patients In A Fast-Paced And Unpredictable Environment. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Excellent Clinical Skills, Including The Ability To Perform Comprehensive Assessments, Diagnose And Treat Acute Conditions, And Perform Emergency Procedures.

  • Effective Communication And Teamwork: In The Emergency Department, Effective Communication And Teamwork Are Crucial For Ensuring Patient Safety And Providing Timely Care. The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have Strong Communication Skills, The Ability To Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team, And Remain Calm Under Pressure.

  • Flexibility And Availability: Per Diem Positions At Uvm Medical Center Require A Flexible Schedule And Availability To Work Shifts During Nights, Weekends, And Holidays. Candidates Should Be Willing And Able To Work A Variety Of Shifts To Meet The Needs Of The Emergency Department. This May Also Include Being On-Call Or Filling In For Last-Minute Shifts.
