
Emergency Department Technician

- Provide direct patient care: The Emergency Department Technician will be responsible for providing direct care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assisting with procedures, taking vital signs, and collecting specimens.
- Assist healthcare team: The Technician will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient care for patients. This includes assisting with tasks such as setting up equipment, restocking supplies, and obtaining patient histories.
- Maintain safe and clean environment: It is the responsibility of the Emergency Department Technician to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. This includes cleaning and disinfecting equipment and rooms, as well as following infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient status: The Technician will be responsible for monitoring patient status and reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team. This may include observing vital signs, monitoring patient comfort, and responding to patient requests.
- Document patient information: Accurate and timely documentation is crucial in the Emergency Department. The Technician will be responsible for documenting patient information, procedures, and any other relevant data in medical records.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Emergency Department Technician At Uvm Medical Center Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Academic Subjects And Can Communicate Effectively.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Uvm Medical Center Prefers Candidates Who Have A Cna Certification, As It Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Medical Knowledge And Patient Care Skills. This Certification Also Indicates That The Candidate Has Completed A State-Approved Training Program And Passed A Competency Exam.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Emergency Department Technicians Are Required To Be Trained In Basic Life Support Techniques, Such As Cpr And First Aid. A Bls Certification From The American Heart Association Is Preferred For This Position.
Previous Healthcare Experience: Uvm Medical Center Values Candidates Who Have Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In An Emergency Department.
