
Dietetic Technician
The University of Vermont Medical Center is looking for a highly motivated Dietetic Technician to join our team. We are seeking an individual with strong nutrition knowledge and excellent communication skills who can manage a variety of tasks to ensure our patients receive the best possible nutrition care. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality care.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field and be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not required. The Dietetic Technician will also need to be able to work independently and show initiative to take on additional responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide education and counseling to patients on nutrition and dietary requirements
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Monitor and revise patient meal plans as required
- Monitor patient food intake and make adjustments as needed
- Prepare and serve meals to patients in accordance with dietary requirements
- Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team
- Ensure patient safety and quality care
- Monitor food supplies and order additional supplies as needed
- Participate in educational activities and continuing education programs
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
