- Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests accurately and efficiently in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment regularly to ensure accurate test results.
- Educate patients on proper breathing techniques and assist with administering medication or treatments as needed.
- Monitor patients during testing and provide immediate assistance in case of any adverse reactions.
- Document all test results and maintain accurate records for patient charts.
- Stay current on advancements and best practices in pulmonary function testing to continuously improve patient care.
- Provide support and guidance to patients and their families, answering any questions or concerns they may have about the testing process.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new procedures and protocols.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and colleagues at all times.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated care for patients.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department head.
Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (Cpft) Credential From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Center.
Strong Knowledge Of Pulmonary Function Testing Procedures, Equipment, And Interpretation Of Results.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
