We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the AVP of Human Resources at UVM Medical Center.   1. Lead the HR team: Manage and oversee the daily operations and functions of the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
  2. Develop HR strategies: Create and implement effective HR strategies and policies that align with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  3. Foster a positive work culture: Create a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and implementing employee engagement and recognition programs.
  4. Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  5. Manage employee relations: Serve as a resource for employees and managers on employee relations issues and provide guidance and support to resolve conflicts and maintain a positive work environment.
  6. Develop and implement training programs: Identify training needs and develop and implement training programs to support the professional development of employees and managers.
  7. Performance management: Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and providing coaching and feedback to employees.
  8. Data analysis and reporting: Utilize HR data to identify trends and provide insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  9. Budget management: Develop and manage the HR department budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and efficiently.
  10. Collaborate with leadership: Work closely with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and develop HR strategies that support them.
  11. Stay current on industry trends: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and developments in HR to continuously improve and enhance the organization's HR practices.
  12. Uphold confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive employee information and handle all HR matters with discretion and professionalism.
  13. Recruit and retain top talent: Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies.
  14. Lead by example: Serve as a role model for the organization's values and foster a positive and collaborative work environment through your actions and behaviors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 7 Years Experience In A Human Resources Leadership Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Labor Laws, Including Fmla, Ada, And Eeoc.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Relationships With Employees At All Levels Of The Organization.

  • Proven Experience In Developing And Implementing Hr Strategies And Initiatives, Such As Employee Engagement, Talent Acquisition, And Performance Management.
