Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver Lead at US Foods. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of delivery drivers and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our daily operations and contribute to our overall success. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role.   1. Lead a team of delivery drivers and ensure all operations are running smoothly.
  2. Oversee and manage daily delivery schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
  3. Train and mentor new delivery drivers to ensure they understand company policies and procedures.
  4. Monitor driver performance and provide coaching and feedback to improve efficiency and customer service.
  5. Communicate with customers to address any delivery issues or concerns.
  6. Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper inventory levels and efficient delivery processes.
  7. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
  8. Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed by drivers.
  9. Assist with route planning and optimization to improve delivery efficiency.
  10. Conduct regular performance evaluations and make recommendations for team development and growth.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve delivery operations.
  12. Handle any escalated customer concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  13. Collaborate with other department managers to improve overall company performance.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional work environment for the delivery team.
  15. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation guidelines.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Delivery Services: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Delivery Services, Preferably In The Food Industry, Is Required For This Role. This Includes A Strong Understanding Of Delivery Routes, Vehicle Maintenance, And Customer Service.

  • Leadership Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In A Leadership Role, Such As A Team Lead Or Supervisor. They Should Be Able To Effectively Manage A Team, Delegate Tasks, And Provide Guidance And Support To Other Delivery Drivers.

  • Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License And A Clean Driving Record Are Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Operate A Delivery Truck Or Van Safely And Efficiently, While Adhering To All Traffic Laws And Regulations.

  • Knowledge Of Dot Regulations: The Delivery Driver Lead Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Department Of Transportation (Dot) Regulations, Including Hours Of Service, Vehicle Weight Limits, And Paperwork Requirements. This Knowledge Is Necessary To Ensure Compliance And Safety On The Road.

  • Time Management Skills: Delivering Food Products On Time Is Crucial In The Food Industry. The Delivery Driver Lead Should Be Able To Effectively Manage Their Time, Plan Efficient Routes, And Prioritize Deliveries To Ensure Timely And Accurate Deliveries To Customers.
