Senior Director, Venture Capital and Impact Investing

Welcome to the University of Utah! We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Senior Director of Venture Capital and Impact Investing. 1. Lead and oversee all venture capital and impact investing initiatives at the University of Utah.
2. Collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities.
3. Develop and implement a strategic plan for venture capital and impact investing that aligns with the university's mission and goals.
4. Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
5. Manage a team of analysts and associates to support investment activities and ensure timely and accurate evaluation of opportunities.
6. Make investment decisions and negotiate terms with potential partners, ensuring alignment with the university's values and objectives.
7. Monitor and manage the performance of existing investments, providing regular updates and reports to university leadership.
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including venture capital firms, impact investors, and industry experts.
9. Stay informed about industry trends and market developments, and use this knowledge to inform investment decisions and strategies.
10. Represent the university at industry events and conferences, promoting our venture capital and impact investing efforts and building our reputation in the field.
11. Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow as professionals.
12. Collaborate with other departments and university leaders to maximize the impact and success of our venture capital and impact investing initiatives.
13. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in all investment activities.
14. Continuously evaluate and improve our venture capital and impact investing processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with best practices.
