- Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic testing and imaging procedures on patients, including visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, and OCT scans.
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by ophthalmologists.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist ophthalmologists during procedures.
- Educate patients on eye care, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic equipment and ensure proper functioning.
- Order and stock necessary supplies and medications for the ophthalmology department.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and trends in ophthalmology.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Be A Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician (Comt) Or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) With A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo).
Relevant Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As An Ophthalmic Medical Technician Or Assistant In A Clinical Setting Is Required. This Experience Should Include Performing Diagnostic Tests, Assisting With Minor Procedures, And Providing Patient Education.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Ophthalmic Instruments And Equipment, As Well As Experience In Performing Procedures Such As Tonometry, Visual Acuity Testing, And Assisting With Surgical Procedures.
Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
