To be successful in this role, you must be a registered nurse with a current license in the state of Utah, have at least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, and possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills. As an Inpatient Registered Nurse for our ACC OR division at the University of Utah, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing high-quality and compassionate care to patients in the acute care setting, adhering to all medical and ethical standards.
  2. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, surgeons, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan for each patient.
  3. Conducting thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
  4. Administering medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, and monitoring and reporting any changes in patient conditions.
  5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic medical records, and ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
  6. Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing education and support to promote patient understanding and involvement in their care.
  7. Participating in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance nursing skills, knowledge, and competencies.
  8. Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
  9. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to contribute to the advancement of healthcare practices and outcomes.
  10. Demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and respect in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting a positive and welcoming environment for all.
  11. Maintaining a current Utah nursing license and fulfilling all continuing education requirements.
  12. Meeting all job performance expectations, including attendance, punctuality, teamwork, and professional conduct.
  13. Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned by the nurse manager or other healthcare leaders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bls And Acls Certification.

  • Current And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Utah.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Recent Clinical Experience In An Acute Care Setting.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.

  • Experience Working In An Academic Medical Center Or Complex Health Care Environment.
