We are currently seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to join our team as a Health Unit Coordinator at our South Jordan Health Center Emergency Department on a PRN basis. In this role, you will provide critical administrative support to our fast-paced and dynamic emergency department, contributing to the overall success of our patient care.   • Greet patients and visitors to the South Jordan Health Center Emergency Department in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls and inquiries to the appropriate department or individual, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments for patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, utilizing electronic scheduling systems and adhering to departmental guidelines.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring that all necessary paperwork and processes are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment, ordering additional items as needed and ensuring that all equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure that patient care is coordinated and efficient.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and concerns, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the University of Utah Health, promoting a culture of excellence and dedication to patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Requirement For The Health Unit Coordinator Position At South Jordan Health Center Emergency Department Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows That The Candidate Has Basic Education And Can Handle Clerical Tasks Efficiently.

  • Experience In Healthcare Industry: Candidates With Experience In The Healthcare Industry Are Preferred For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records, And Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations.
