  1. Provide direct patient care: The Health Care Assistant (CNA) will be responsible for providing direct care to patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures. This includes assisting with basic needs such as bathing, feeding, and ambulating, as well as monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  2. Support patients: It is the responsibility of the Health Care Assistant to support patients both physically and emotionally during their stay at the Orthopaedic Center. This may involve providing comfort measures, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or fears.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and organization: The Health Care Assistant will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment in the patient care areas. This includes keeping patient rooms and common areas tidy, restocking supplies, and following infection control protocols.
  4. Communicate effectively: Strong communication skills are essential in this role. The Health Care Assistant will be responsible for communicating with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure that all needs are being met and any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.
  5. Document patient care: Accurate and timely documentation of patient care is crucial in healthcare. The Health Care Assistant will be responsible for documenting all care provided, as well as any changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  6. Adhere to policies and procedures: The Health Care Assistant must follow all policies and procedures set forth by the University of Utah and the Orthopaedic Center. This includes maintaining patient confidentiality, following safety protocols, and adhering to ethical standards.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare team: The Health Care Assistant will work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients. This may involve assisting with procedures, communicating patient information, and participating in team meetings.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Health Care Assistant (Cna) At The Orthopaedic Center Ssu/Pacu Should Have A Valid Cna Certification From An Accredited Institution.

  • Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Cna In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting, With A Preference For Experience In Orthopaedic Care.

  • Knowledge Of Orthopaedic Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Orthopaedic Procedures, Treatments, And Equipment Commonly Used In The Ssu/Pacu Setting.

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment. The Candidate Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Ability To Work In A Team: As Part Of The Healthcare Team, A Health Care Assistant (Cna) Should Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide High-Quality Patient Care. The Candidate Should Demonstrate Strong Teamwork Skills And A Willingness To Assist Others.
