  1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the University of Utah's mission, values, and funding priorities.
  2. Identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, and other sources that align with the university's mission and goals.
  3. Conduct thorough research and gather relevant data and information to support grant proposals.
  4. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to develop compelling and competitive grant proposals.
  5. Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate the university's mission, goals, and impact.
  6. Ensure all grant proposals meet the requirements and guidelines of the funding source.
  7. Create and maintain a database of past and current grant proposals, including timelines and progress updates.
  8. Monitor and track grant funding opportunities and deadlines to ensure timely submission of proposals.
  9. Stay up-to-date with best practices and trends in grant writing and fundraising to continuously improve proposal development strategies.
  10. Communicate and build relationships with funding agencies and other external partners to increase the university's visibility and funding opportunities.
  11. Work closely with the university's finance and accounting departments to develop accurate budgets and financial reports for grant proposals.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all grant activities and outcomes.
  13. Collaborate with other members of the development team to integrate grant opportunities with overall fundraising strategies.
  14. Uphold the university's values of inclusivity and innovation in all grant writing and fundraising efforts.
  15. Represent the university and its mission professionally and positively in all interactions with external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In English, Communications, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Grant Writing, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Grant Application Processes And Ability To Navigate Complex Funding Guidelines.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Information To A Variety Of Audiences.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Securing Grants And Meeting Fundraising Goals.
