  1. Provide exceptional and compassionate healthcare to patients in the critical care units.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  3. Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing critical care procedures.
  4. Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia as needed.
  5. Respond to emergencies and provide immediate medical intervention.
  6. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  7. Stay current with advancements and developments in the field of critical care anesthesia.
  8. Educate patients and their families about the anesthesia process and potential risks.
  9. Work alongside a diverse team of healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  11. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  14. Continuously assess and evaluate patient outcomes, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  15. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  16. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of job performance.
  17. Demonstrate professionalism and empathy towards patients, colleagues, and staff.
  18. Provide guidance and mentorship to residents and fellows in training.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Critical Care Anesthesiologist At University Of Utah Must Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Typically Includes Completion Of A 4-Year Undergraduate Program, Followed By 4 Years Of Medical School.

  • Residency Training: Candidates For This Position Must Have Completed A Residency Program In Anesthesiology, And Ideally Have Additional Training Or Experience In Critical Care Medicine.

  • Board Certification: To Practice As A Critical Care Anesthesiologist At University Of Utah, Candidates Must Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Anesthesiology (Aba) In Both Anesthesiology And Critical Care Medicine.

  • Active State License: All Applicants Must Have A Current, Unrestricted License To Practice Medicine In The State Of Utah. This Includes Maintaining All Necessary Credentials And Complying With Continuing Education Requirements.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Critical Care Anesthesiologists At University Of Utah Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
