Welcome to the University of Utah's Cardiology Department! We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Cardiology Technician to join our team. As a Cardiology Technician, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of our patients with heart conditions. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.   1. Perform diagnostic tests: Conduct various diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms, stress tests, and echocardiograms to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.
  2. Monitor patient vitals: Monitor and record patient's vital signs during procedures and communicate any changes to the physician.
  3. Prepare and maintain equipment: Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained for accurate test results. Keep inventory of supplies and request replacements as needed.
  4. Assist physicians: Assist cardiologists during procedures, such as cardiac catheterizations, by setting up equipment and providing necessary instruments.
  5. Educate patients: Explain procedures and answer any questions or concerns from patients to help alleviate anxiety and promote understanding.
  6. Maintain patient records: Keep accurate and detailed records of patient information, test results, and treatment plans in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare team: Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and address any patient needs.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols: Follow safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  9. Stay updated on industry developments: Continuously stay informed about new developments, techniques, and equipment in the field of cardiology to provide the best possible care to patients.
  10. Uphold patient confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  11. Provide exceptional patient care: Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients with heart conditions.
  12. Attend trainings and meetings: Attend trainings and meetings to expand knowledge and stay updated on department policies and procedures.
  13. Collaborate on research projects: Participate in research projects to contribute to the advancement of the field of cardiology.
  14. Support department goals: Work towards achieving department goals and objectives, and contribute to creating a positive and supportive work environment for the team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Cardiovascular Technology Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Rcis) Or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (Rcs).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Cardiology Technician In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Cardiac Procedures And Equipment, Including Ekgs, Stress Tests, And Echocardiograms.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
