  1. Conduct urgent and emergent surgical procedures on patients in the hospital's trauma center.
  2. Provide exceptional care to patients by utilizing advanced surgical techniques and procedures.
  3. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  4. Lead and manage a team of surgical staff, including nurses and residents, to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Candidate For An Acute Care Surgeon Position At University Of Utah Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: Applicants Must Be Board Certified In General Surgery By The American Board Of Surgery (Abs) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Surgery (Aobs).

  • Fellowship Training: Ideal Candidates Should Have Completed A Fellowship In Acute Care Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Or Trauma Surgery.

  • Active Medical License: Candidates Must Hold An Active Medical License In The State Of Utah, Or Be Eligible For Licensure In The State.

  • Clinical Experience: A Successful Candidate Will Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Acute Care Surgery, With A Strong Background In Trauma Surgery And Surgical Critical Care.
