We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Studies. As an Assistant Professor, you will have the opportunity to not only further your own research and academic pursuits, but also to mentor and inspire students in their journey towards becoming effective communicators. We are looking for someone who possesses both a strong academic background and a personal commitment to teaching and engaging with students.   • Conduct research and contribute to the field of communication through publications, presentations, and other scholarly activities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in communication studies, including developing course curriculum and assignments
  • Mentor and advise students in their academic and professional development
  • Provide guidance and support to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and other forms of communication
  • Participate in departmental and university committees and meetings
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall academic community within the School of Communication Studies and the University of Tennessee
  • Stay current with developments and trends in the field of communication studies to continuously enhance course content and teaching methods
  • Assist with recruitment and retention efforts for the School of Communication Studies
  • Serve as a role model for students and uphold the values and mission of the University of Tennessee and the School of Communication Studies
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and perspectives
  • Engage in professional development activities to continuously improve teaching and research skills.

Job Qualifications
  • A Ph.d. In Communication Studies Or A Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Teaching Experience At The College Level, Preferably In The Field Of Communication Studies.

  • A Record Of Scholarly Research And Publication In The Area Of Communication Studies.

  • Demonstrated Expertise In One Or More Areas Of Communication Studies, Such As Interpersonal Communication, Organizational Communication, Or Media Studies.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As A Commitment To Mentoring And Advising Students.
