As a Steward Floater, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our dining facilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our students, faculty, and staff.   1. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining facilities: The primary responsibility of the Steward Floater is to ensure that all dining facilities are kept clean and sanitary at all times. This includes cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, surfaces, and dining areas.
  2. Provide exceptional service: The Steward Floater is expected to provide exceptional customer service to all students, faculty, and staff who utilize the dining facilities. This includes greeting and assisting customers, addressing any concerns or complaints, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  3. Uphold university standards: As a representative of the University of Southern California, the Steward Floater is responsible for upholding the university's standards of excellence, diversity, and innovation. This includes following all policies and procedures, maintaining a professional demeanor, and promoting a positive image of the university.
  4. Work flexible hours: The Steward Floater must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, in order to provide coverage for any shifts that may need to be filled due to staffing shortages or special events.
  5. Maintain inventory and supplies: The Steward Floater will be responsible for keeping track of inventory and supplies in the dining facilities, restocking items as needed, and reporting any shortages or issues to management.
  6. Maintain a safe environment: It is the responsibility of the Steward Floater to ensure that the dining facilities are safe for all customers and employees. This includes promptly addressing any potential hazards or safety concerns and following all safety protocols and procedures.
  7. Communicate effectively: The Steward Floater must have excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, coworkers, and management. This includes effectively relaying information, listening to and addressing concerns, and maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
  8. Demonstrate a strong work ethic: The Steward Floater is expected to have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated in performing their duties. This includes being punctual, dependable, and taking initiative to complete

Job Qualifications
  • Prior Experience In Food Service Or Hospitality Industry, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role.

  • Knowledge Of Proper Food Handling And Sanitation Practices, As Well As Experience With Inventory Management And Ordering.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Groups Of People, Including Students, Faculty, And Staff.

  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With A Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Prioritize Tasks.

  • Availability To Work A Flexible Schedule, Including Nights And Weekends, And Willingness To Cover Shifts At Multiple Locations On Campus.
