- Monitor and patrol campus grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
- Enforce university policies and regulations to ensure compliance and promote a safe campus community.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations, such as accidents, disturbances, and criminal activity.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and file accurate and detailed reports.
- Collaborate with other campus departments and law enforcement agencies to address safety concerns and implement effective solutions.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff by addressing their concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in regular trainings and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and procedures.
- Utilize security equipment and technology, such as cameras and alarms, to monitor and maintain campus safety.
- Assist with traffic control and parking enforcement to ensure the flow of traffic and safety of pedestrians on campus.
- Serve as a visible and approachable presence on campus, promoting a sense of safety and security for the university community.
- Remain vigilant and alert for potential safety hazards and take appropriate action to address them.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of daily activities and incidents.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions and uphold the values of the university.
- Act as a role model for the university community, demonstrating responsible and ethical behavior at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Safety or other university officials.
Valid California Driver's License And Clean Driving Record
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Completion Of A Certified Peace Officer Training Program
Ability To Pass A Thorough Background Investigation And Drug Screening
Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Laws, As Well As Usc Policies And Procedures Related To Public Safety And Law Enforcement.
