  1. Assist in providing high-quality care to patients under the supervision of experienced physical therapists.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  3. Aid in setting up equipment and preparing treatment areas for therapy sessions.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress and report any concerns to the supervising therapist.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  7. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  8. Continuously seek opportunities to learn and improve skills in the field of physical therapy.
  9. Collaborate with the therapy team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  10. Show compassion and empathy towards patients and their families.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  12. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the University of Southern California.
  13. Attend training and educational sessions as required.
  14. Act as a positive representative of the University of Southern California and promote its values and mission.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising therapist or department head.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Physical Therapy Aide At University Of Southern California Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Skills Necessary For The Job.

  • Certification In Cpr And First Aid: A Physical Therapy Aide Should Be Prepared To Handle Any Emergency Situation That May Arise While Working With Patients. Certification In Cpr And First Aid Is Required To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Patients.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital, Clinic, Or Rehabilitation Center, Is Preferred For This Position. This Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Healthcare Environment And Has Some Understanding Of Patient Care.

  • Knowledge Of Physical Therapy Techniques And Exercises: A Physical Therapy Aide Should Have Basic Knowledge Of Physical Therapy Techniques And Exercises To Assist The Physical Therapist In Providing Treatment To Patients. This Includes Understanding Proper Body Mechanics, Range Of Motion Exercises, And The Use Of Therapy Equipment.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For A Physical Therapy Aide. They Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Physical Therapists, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Work As Part Of A Team Is Crucial.
