Job Description

  1. Transport patients to and from various areas within the healthcare facility, including but not limited to patient rooms, treatment areas, and diagnostic imaging areas.
  2. Ensure patients are transported safely and comfortably, taking into consideration their physical limitations and medical conditions.
  3. Assist patients in getting in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers as needed.
  4. Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to prioritize and coordinate patient transport needs.
  5. Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities and report any concerns or issues to the appropriate personnel.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to provide a positive and welcoming experience.
  7. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Monitor and maintain medical equipment used for patient transport, reporting any malfunctions or damages.
  9. Assist with the organization and stocking of supplies in patient transport areas.
  10. Attend training and development opportunities to stay current on patient transport protocols and procedures.
  11. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families at all times.
  12. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
  13. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback to improve patient transport processes.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
