
Nurse Practitioner (Critical Care & Stepdown)

- Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients and those in the stepdown unit.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and provide appropriate interventions and treatments.
- Administer medications and perform procedures within scope of practice.
- Monitor and interpret patients' vital signs and laboratory results.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care discussions.
- Act as a resource and mentor for other staff members.
- Continuously assess and improve upon patient care practices.
- Stay current on advancements and best practices in critical care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Master's Degree In Nursing: A Nurse Practitioner In Critical Care And Stepdown At Usc Must Have A Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited University. This Degree Provides Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Critically Ill Patients.
Active Rn And Np License: The Candidate Must Have An Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License And Nurse Practitioner (Np) License In The State Of California. These Licenses Demonstrate That The Candidate Has Met The Educational And Professional Requirements To Practice Nursing In The State.
Certification In Critical Care Or Acute Care: Usc Requires Nurse Practitioners In Critical Care And Stepdown To Hold Certifications In Critical Care Or Acute Care. These Certifications Demonstrate The Candidate's Knowledge And Expertise In Caring For Critically Ill Patients.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Or Stepdown: Usc Prefers Candidates With A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Critical Care Or Stepdown Setting. This Experience Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Complex Needs Of Critically Ill Patients And Can Handle High-Stress Situations.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Nurse Practitioner In Critical Care And Stepdown, Effective Communication And Collaboration With Other Healthcare Professionals Are Essential.
