
Labor and Employee Relations Specialist

- Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships between the university and its employees.
- Monitor and analyze employee relations trends, identifying areas of concern and proactively implementing solutions.
- Serve as a resource and advisor for employees and managers on labor and employee relations issues.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to employee relations.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Collaborate with other HR team members to develop and deliver training programs on employee relations topics.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant labor laws and regulations, and ensure university compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee performance management and disciplinary processes.
- Act as a liaison between the university and labor unions, negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels between the university and its employees, keeping them informed of important updates and changes.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Participate in the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as legal and compliance, to ensure fair and ethical employment practices.
- Continuously evaluate and improve labor and employee relations processes and procedures.
- Serve as a champion for a positive and inclusive work culture at the university.
Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Labor And Employee Relations, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal And State Employment Laws, Regulations, And Best Practices.
Excellent Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills.
Ability To Handle Sensitive And Confidential Information With Discretion And Professionalism.
