  1. Develop and implement comprehensive benefits and leave policies for all employees of the University of Southern California.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Benefits and Leave Administration department, ensuring efficient and accurate administration of all benefits and leave programs.
  3. Act as a strategic partner in identifying and implementing new and innovative benefits and leave offerings to attract and retain top talent.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to benefits and leave programs.
  5. Lead and manage a team of benefits and leave specialists, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  6. Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns related to benefits and leave programs, providing excellent customer service and timely resolution of issues.
  7. Analyze data and trends to make informed decisions and recommendations for improvements to current benefits and leave offerings.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners to negotiate competitive rates and services for the university's benefits and leave programs.
  9. Communicate regularly with employees to educate them on available benefits and leave programs, as well as any updates or changes to policies.
  10. Advocate for a positive and inclusive work culture by promoting and supporting employee well-being and satisfaction through effective benefits and leave programs.
  11. Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on the status and effectiveness of benefits and leave programs, as well as any proposed changes or updates.
  12. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in benefits and leave administration to continuously improve the university's offerings.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism.
  14. Handle any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Benefits And Leave Administration At A Large Organization, Preferably In The Higher Education Sector.

  • Strong Understanding Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Employee Benefits And Leave, Including Fmla, Ada, And Aca.

  • Proven Track Record Of Effectively Managing A Team And Overseeing The Implementation And Maintenance Of Complex Benefits Programs.

  • Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Hr, Finance, And External Vendors.

  • Advanced Knowledge Of Hris Systems And Proficiency In Data Analysis To Inform Decision Making And Identify Areas For Improvement In Benefits Administration.
