  1. Oversee a team of electricians and provide guidance and support to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  3. Develop and implement procedures for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  4. Coordinate with other departments and contractors to schedule and prioritize electrical work.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues, utilizing advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  6. Keep accurate records of all electrical work performed and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  7. Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in electrical systems.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices in electrical work to continuously improve the efficiency and safety of our systems.
  9. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  10. Communicate effectively with university staff, students, and faculty to understand their electrical needs and provide timely and satisfactory solutions.
  11. Manage budgets and expenses related to electrical work, ensuring cost-effective solutions are utilized.
  12. Participate in emergency response procedures and provide support during electrical emergencies.
  13. Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute electrical projects, including new construction and renovation projects.
  14. Serve as a liaison between the university and external electricians and contractors.
  15. Uphold the university's values and standards, representing the institution in a professional and positive manner.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For This Position. Additional Education Or Vocational Training In Electrical Systems Is Preferred.

  • Journeyman Electrician License: The Ideal Candidate Will Possess A Journeyman Electrician License Or Equivalent Certification From A Recognized Institution.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working In The Electrical Field, Preferably In A Lead Or Supervisory Role. Experience In A University Or Large Institutional Setting Is A Plus.

  • Knowledge Of Building And Safety Codes: The Successful Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Building And Safety Codes Related To Electrical Systems.

  • Leadership And Communication Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Effectively Lead A Team Of Electricians And Communicate With Other Departments And Stakeholders. Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Delegate Tasks And Provide Guidance, Are Essential For Success In This Position.
