We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator) to join our team at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), the pediatric teaching hospital for the Keck School of Medicine at USC. As a Clinician Educator, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the country's leading pediatric clinicians and educators, while also shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals through your passion for teaching and mentoring.   1. Provide high-quality patient care: As a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). This includes diagnosing and treating pediatric patients, communicating with families and caregivers, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  2. Educate medical students and residents: As a Clinician Educator, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring medical students and residents from the Keck School of Medicine at USC. This may include developing and delivering lectures, leading small group discussions, and providing hands-on clinical instruction.
  3. Contribute to research initiatives: The University of Southern California is a renowned research institution, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research projects and initiatives. This may involve conducting your own research, collaborating with other researchers, and presenting findings at conferences and publications.
  4. Participate in departmental and hospital committees: You will be expected to actively participate in departmental and hospital committees, contributing your expertise and insights to help shape policies and procedures related to patient care, education, and research.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution: The Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Degree From An Accredited Medical School. This Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For Practicing Medicine And Is Necessary For Providing Clinical Care And Teaching Medical Students And Residents.

  • Board Certification In Pediatrics: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Board Certified In Pediatrics By The American Board Of Pediatrics (Abp) Or Another Recognized Board. This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Expertise And Knowledge In The Field Of Pediatrics, And Is Important For Providing High-Quality Patient Care And Teaching.

  • Demonstrated Clinical Experience: The Candidate Must Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Pediatrics. This Experience Should Include Direct Patient Care, As Well As Teaching And Mentoring Medical Students And Residents. Experience In Subspecialty Areas Of Pediatrics, Such As Neonatology Or Pediatric Cardiology, Is Also Desirable.

  • Strong Teaching And Communication Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Teaching Skills And Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Medical Concepts To Students And Residents. Previous Experience In Teaching And Curriculum Development Is Preferred. Additionally, Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills Are Necessary For Working With Patients, Families, And Colleagues.

  • Commitment To Research And Scholarship: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Interest In Research And Scholarly Activities In The Field Of Pediatrics. This May Include Conducting Clinical Research, Publishing Articles In Peer-Reviewed Journals, And Presenting At Conferences. A Track Record Of Research And Scholarship Is Highly Desirable For This Position.
